Antro del Corchia . Stazzema

Antro del Corchia is located on the slopes of the mountain of the same name, one of the highest in the Apuan Alps, within the homonymous Regional Park. Together with the Abisso Fighierà and the Abisso Farolfi it is part of the largest karstic complex in Italy. It is a collection of tunnels and wells with a total length of about 70 kilometers and a maximum height difference of 1,200 meters, with an internal temperature of around + 7,6 °. The entrance to the cave took the name of Buca d’Eolo due to the strong wind that can still be perceived. The accessible part is a path equipped with walkways and steps of about 2 kilometers, which can be covered in 2 hours, along which you can see streams, waterfalls and ponds. Particularly attractive are the Gallery of the English, with walls covered by small cavities, and the Stalactites Gallery, with stone lace, draperies and castings with an infinite variety of shapes and colors.
