Porcino and Chianina Beef Festival 2016
This food festival in the province of Pisa has two protagonists on the menu: the Porcino mushroom and Chianina beef. The white Chianina is one of the oldest cattle breeds in the world and has been a part of the region since the 4th century B.C. The Bistecca Fiorentina is one of the most renowned Chianina cuts.
On the festival’s menu fresh ravioli and tagliatelle topped by Chianina ragu sauce or porcini mushrooms, beef steak with porcini (sliced or whole cap) and Chianina roast beef with rocket salad and parmesan cheese. Also other types of meat will be served such as pork ribs, sausages, Chianina burgers, followed by traditional contours as fried porcini mushrooms.
